Over the past few days, we have built out a new version of download Adobe Lightroom that not only enables you to easily share your photos and videos together, but also offers many other photo sharing and social media plugins that are designed to enable you to share photos and videos in ways that you were never able to do with older versions of Lightroom. We have been working on this new version for quite some time now, and we are excited to finally release it for you today.
Over the next few months, we will be continuing to evolve the social media plugins in this new Lightroom version and will, just as in the past, continue to provide updates to the existing plugins as we continue working on them.
Let’s take a quick look at the new and old version of Lightroom, to see how it would work to enable the RAW images in your catalog to look how you want them to for social media sharing.
If you want to convert an image to the new version, make sure that there is nothing on top of your image in the Collection Panel that is conflicting with the new sliders. Let’s say, for example, that you have a picture taken with a green background. This will cause the Shadows and Whites slider to behave differently. The green will be seen on top of the Shadows and Whites, meaning that the grey of the background will register more as white than the grey of the shadow. This is not the desired look when you want to share the photo on social media, but it is how the slider will work.

Lightroom is a platform for managing your digital photos. You can also capture raw photos in other programs. But it always seems to be the starting point for a lot of people. It is a sophisticated tool that has a massive range of features.
The problem for the user is that theres so much you can do with Lightroom. Thats why, for a beginning user, its best to start with the basics and then gradually add more features.
But the good news is that is a camera friendly application. Once you understand the basics of the software, you can work easily with your raw photos and most of the problems will be rectified in post production. Regardless of your skill level, Lightroom has something to offer.
Lightroom is most of the time handled in just a few keystrokes. But it is important to understand how it works. Youll get more out of this program if you know the back end of the program. Until you master the basics, its important to know where things are located so that you can quickly access them with only a keystroke.
Its been a huge success for Adobe and it shows little sign of slowing down. New features and new releases continue to come out and it seems that theres always something new to try.
Lightroom by Adobe is a proprietary editing, organizing, and printing application. In short, its a photo organizer, but with a set of powerful editing tools integrated into it. It allows you to organize photos, so you can find and share them with ease. It is useful when you want to organize a collection of photos from various events, or just to organize your pictures. It can also be a good tool for editing.
You get Photoshop features in Lightroom, such as tools that can enhance your photos. For example, you can add textures and make blur effects to your pictures. Your images are also saved in the same.psd format that you use for Photoshop, so they can be imported, edited, and exported just like any other Photoshop file.
Lightroom is part of the Creative Cloud from Adobe. You need to install Lightroom on every computer you plan to use it. You can install it once, and then activate it using your Adobe ID. Thats quite easy and convenient.
Lightroom uses the same Adobe ID that you use for other apps like Photoshop and InDesign. When you download it from the App Store, Apple gives you a window to sign into your Adobe ID. You can then sign into any other apps that use it. Adobe does all the online login stuff automatically for you.
It also has a client side window that you can use to sign in with your Adobe ID. You can use this window to access Lightroom remotely, such as to sign into your account from your phone, tablet, or laptop.

A good feature of the Adobe Photoshop family of products is that its very easy to open and use your programs.
Lightroom can be opened by clicking on the front facing rectangle in the bottom right hand corner or by double clicking the icon on your PC desktop. After a few moments the app will open and will give you a progress meter and some instructions about how to navigate its interface.
If Lightroom is on a Mac, you can double click to open and the right click to save a file. Both systems have a global menu with important actions like view, edit, and manage media. Theres also a file menu as well as a few extra options buried in the nav bar and a panel at the bottom with settings, file transfers, and a few other features. As an added bonus, on both Mac and PC theres a very helpful toolbar with exposure and other image and camera functions like flash auto on and off, white balance, etc.
Once youre in Lightroom you can organize photos into collections by date, location, people, etc. Theyre all stored in Albums which are organized by Collections. Collections can be moved, renamed, and replaced.
With Lightroom, you can edit RAW files and export JPEGs, TIFFs, and a host of other file types. Its workflow is similar to that of professional editing software such as Photoshop, and it can be used for both photography and non-photography projects. So instead of using separate programs for RAW editing and for non-RAW projects, photographers can use one program to do both. And the workflow is a lot more efficient because it lets you see more of a picture at once.
The big advantage of Lightroom is that it lets you have many projects open at once. You can switch among them as fast as you can press the button on the side of your computer. Another benefit is that it lets you control a central image library with a master catalog that you can share with your friends. It stores both your original RAW files and your edited versions of photos.
Lightroom is a comprehensive tool and can handle a lot of different editing projects. The program lets you work with specific editing projects like portraits, weddings, HDR, sports, landscape, fashion, food, and so on. It uses an intuitive interface that is easy to use, and you don’t need a PhD to figure out what the controls are doing.
I love the way it organizes my projects. I can see all of the edits a photo has received and where they were applied. Lightroom’s advantages are many, but its other advantages include:

It is a set of features specifically for photo editing. We have seen people prefer to use Lightroom over apps like Pixelmator or Photoshop for the reasons we have mentioned.
Adobe Lightroom features a tablet-like, GUI interface. To use it, you must download download Adobe Lightroom from their website. Also, you can download the Adobe Lightroom free download mobile app for Android or iPhone.
You can perform almost all the tasks in Lightroom using the GUI. However, that makes it suitable for professionals. You can use the app to view images and only make small adjustments using intuitive controls.
Lightroom is an image-management software that allows you to store and process RAW files from DSLRs as well as other digital cameras. It runs as a standalone application that can import images from either a memory card or import them from folders on the computer.
In terms of capabilities, Lightroom is probably the best software for photographers who shoot RAW files. Unlike other Adobe software that can edit JPEG and other image formats, Lightroom edits RAW images.
When it comes to RAW image editing, Lightroom has no competition, and that is because it was developed by Adobe. Not surprisingly, Lightroom can also convert RAW images to JPEG. You can also upload JPEG images to your Lightroom. Using embedded previews, you can quickly see whether the files look good before you finalize them.
Lightroom includes two modes: Develop and Expert. The Develop mode offers tools that let you edit your photos, while the Expert mode is more advanced. For amateurs and beginners, the Expert mode may be difficult to use as you need to know how it is organized, and what tools can be used in what situations.
Adobe has done a great job developing Lightroom and its excellent manual, which will guide you through the process of using all the features of this powerful photo-management software.
What’s new in Adobe Lightroom?

The Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription-based service that brings together a range of design tools, applications, and services. Lightroom Classic CC is only available as a standalone application, so we chose not to include it in the Creative Cloud.
Lightroom CC has a robust set of tools to help anyone organize, share and edit photos and videos. If you are just learning to edit photography, Lightroom CC has a host of tutorials and videos available to help you get started. However, if you would rather learn the basics of graphic design and editing without the extra distractions of this desktop program, then Lightroom Classic CC is the way to go.
The new Lightroom CC is a great one-stop shop for all your photo and video editing needs. While the CC version gives you plenty of capabilities, a classic version of the software, such as Lightroom Classic CC is also available.
The biggest change to Lightroom 5 and the new Adobe Camera Raw 8 is in the new Lightroom mobile App for iOS and Android. Lightroom mobile makes it easy for you to access, create, and edit your images with a camera or mobile device on the go. Take photos right from your iPhone or Android device and then retouch the details or develop your images in Lightroom CC (downloadable to desktops as well as mobile devices).
Lightroom mobile enables you to start and stop processing your images as you capture them. After you take a photo, it will automatically start analyzing your scene, making a guess at the most appropriate exposure and other settings. You can then edit the image, add details, apply filters, and share.
You can also directly save images to Lightroom mobile’s collection of albums, and then sync the images to your mobile device using Wi-Fi or the cloud. You can switch your photos between mobile and desktop in Lightroom mobile, and you can share mobile albums with friends and family.
Lightroom mobile makes it easy to transfer pictures from your phone or tablet to Lightroom on your desktop or laptop computer. You can also use the mobile app’s high-quality, reversible (Mirrored) screen to see how photos appear on your mobile device at the same time they’re being viewed on your desktop or laptop.
Lightroom mobile also features smart tools for organizing images, allowing you to group them into sets or share them with friends, family, and fellow photographers. You can import other people’s photos directly to your collection, and you can search for photos in the cloud and share them easily by email.
Make sure you get to know the new GoInCamera feature in Lightroom Classic and let it process your photos as you shoot. Take a look at the video below:
The new Grid Preview in Lightroom CC and GoInCamera allow you to quickly explore your photos before you import them into Lightroom. Try it out to find new subjects, subjects, and composition. Once you have that exact photo you need, go to Edit, then select Automate to be taken out of the Grid and right into your collection.
Adobe Lightroom Description

Adobe Lightroom is the most popular RAW photo editor around, and for good reason. It is the basis of a huge portfolio of software for virtually every type of photographer, and works with virtually every kind of image. With good reason.
Its latest version (Lightroom 5) is the most powerful Ive ever seen. The fact that it is based on the latest version of Adobe Photoshop and the same can be said about its sister product, Photoshop Elements, means that Lightroom will always be full of new features and improvements. Having said that, Ive never had to contact Adobe for support, because there is such a fantastic, friendly community around. Lightroom 5 received an overall rating of 9.7 from CNET, a respectable rating for a photo editing program. Its nearest competitor, Acdsee, which is very similar to Lightroom, received an overall rating of 6.0. These scores reflect the fact that CNET gives most of the top ratings to Mac software programs.
Theres always something going on in the community forums on sites like Flickr, Twitter and Facebook. This can be a great source of information and inspiration. In fact, youre likely to be able to find a solution to your problems by searching the web on topics like lightroom add-in, image correction or crop. In addition, as a major developer of Lightroom, Adobe is always putting out updates and fixes.
Lightroom for Mac is typically priced at £50, with the latest version available for £90, but is available for the Mac App Store for just £30. This might not seem like a lot, but it is just enough to cover the cost of a three-month licence. In terms of a price for the Lightroom stock plugin, you can buy it for as little as £36.99.
Most of the questions that you might be asking can be answered on the various forums about Lightroom. It should be obvious that you also have to post your own questions.

Adobe Lightroom Features

Lightroom is based on Adobe’s previous Photoshop Express technology. The new Classic program does add some new tools, but it also retains its workflow, which involves a strong emphasis on features that amateur users will most likely never use, such as priority masks, advanced Lazy Edit controls, and Luminance/Saturation adjustments. The photo editing tools are well-organized into modules, with favorites such as Exposure, Vibrance, and Shadows grouped together. The adjustments are color-based, so you can easily experiment with different tonal and color alterations.
There are seven channels: Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Hue, Black and White, Red/Blue, and a public channel, where you can share the image online with just a single click. You can also save the image to a specific album or folder, or to the camera roll if you’re sharing photos via email, and share albums directly from Lightroom. Another useful feature for social media users is Lightroom’s “copy link” tool, which creates an embeddable code that can add a photo to the post or page you’re viewing. You can set Lightroom to automatically include the link or use the link in the browser to grab a photo.
Lightroom Classic lets you organize images into collections based on location or similar criteria. You can also set limits for how many images you want to look at in a particular category, such as “all vacation photos.” It’s a nice organizational tool for when you’re just starting to shoot. You can create collections within collections, and move images back and forth within collections using the Collections browser.

What is Adobe Lightroom good for?

Adobe Lightroom Classic is good for three things—organizing your photos, adjusting them, and exporting them. You can do the second thing from scratch, without Lightroom. Adjustment settings that directly affect those aspects are easily accessible and often customizable. But you can’t adjust them in the same way. The third thing you do in Lightroom is choose exporting by format. You can export RAW photos to JPEG, TIFF, DNG, and other formats.
Lightroom Classic has a whopping 11 file-type presets, as well as a total of 10 for individual photo types (like TIFF, JPEG, and 8-bit PNG), like this:
Adobe made the great improvement of replacing the Library and Slideshow tabs in Classic with six tabs that let you see your photos in any manner. On the left is the main photo view; on the right is a view of the thumbnails, which shows details like date and location.
This tool is an excellent starting point for most people because it lets you easily edit photographs on any phone or tablet. Lightroom’s clean interface, however, is a bit too clean. Some of the tools, especially those that allow you to adjust a photo in fine detail, are much more suited to a desktop computer. If you want to process thousands of photos, you might be better off getting one of the fine-tool-toting apps with a Mac or PC.
On a Mac or PC, you can export files in different formats and perform any number of tasks. You can use Lightroom to open RAW photos from Canon’s Digital Rebel XTi and Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras, as well as other Canon and Nikon DSLRs. You can make your media library smart so that you don’t see duplicates, you can convert Canon CR2 files into other RAW formats, and you can apply image-editing and color-correcting tools. If you want to work on your image files, you can export any of your changes as an LrX file, a Metadata and Settings file, a JPG, or a raw file.
In comparison, the Google apps have a more powerful editing interface than Lightroom, and they also include other useful tools. If you shoot a lot of images, you might find that Pixel Perfect can give you the best of both worlds. With the right camera and lens, it’s possible to shoot photos that are usable on a phone. On the other hand, it’s really difficult to shoot without some sort of post-processing. The most basic adjustments can be made in the Google apps, but it takes more work.
Fitz gets bonus points for being free, but its interface is a bit less polished than Lightroom. The tools are not as accessible and are applied in the background of the editing screen. And the lack of a High Dynamic Range slider will frustrate many photographers.
AppImage Labs offers both Lightroom and Google apps, but it is going in the opposite direction. It’s a bit like an alternative installer that can be applied to most apps—not just Android apps, but also iOS apps, web browsers, and so on. If you want to develop a new app, this is a much easier way to get your first few users.
