The new Windows 10 installer is really nice, it is even better than Windows 7. Few things are missing though. If I remember correctly, there was a way to configure the Windows 10 installer to detect the user’s language, keyboard and what system fonts to use on their system. For example, Windows 10 will use system fonts, if it detects it, otherwise it will use Calibri or any other supported Microsoft font. Microsoft has added that feature to the Windows 10 installer (there is a option in the quick installer for system fonts). Unfortunately, if you set it in Tweaker, the Windows 10 installer will not use it. It is not compatible.

So I decided to make a backup of the original Tweaker.exe file and start the program. I logged in and everything was fine. I changed the appearance preferences. I closed the program. Now I am not able to open it again.

I also have Win10Home/ Pro 1809 and with the Tweaker Pro 19.0 from the first Release I also had all the problems of the new interface (left side of the window is too far to the right) and of the application not being reopened.

I fixed the incompatibility of the Win10Home version (all Tweaker Pro 19.0 versions have this problem) with the Windows 10 Home version by adding the following lines to the registry (note that you must add this to the registry file as user)

If this is done, the incompatible effect is removed and Tweaker Pro 19.0 works fine in Win10Home. On the Win10Home x64 Bit the result is that the “New” dropdown is removed but everything else is working fine.

I ran Tweaker Pro 19.0 again (no backup) and to my surprise it worked and the new interface is not there anymore… but I cannot open Tweaker to make changes in the appearance of the program again.

In the latest version of Windows, Microsoft (in their infinite wisdom) decided to remove the Tablet Mode switch from the Action Center if you dont have a touch screen. Not hide it by default, but remove it completely.
However, Tablet Mode was also awesome as a Big Picture mode on a home theater media center so Microsoft is just limiting their usefulness for no apparent reason. Last I checked, it is possible to add back this Action Center tile with a registry tweak. This would be an AWESOME addition to Winaero Tweaker. If not on the action center, a a toggle to the desktop context menu might be a good alternative.

If you’re looking for a program like this, but it has to work as advertised, then look elsewhere. “This isn’t a “Windows Tweaker” and it doesn’t copy over any settings that the default Windows Tweaker does”. I’m not sure what the difference is, if any.

I do not think there is another app like this one, that allows you to change system settings (font color, easy to use interface, etc). I was also surprised when I discovered that it actually does copy over settings from the “Windows Tweaker”.
I would recommend this to other users who would prefer a more user friendly, and easier to use version of it.
